History

Viking Industries, founded in 1973, traces our roots back to the F.D. Croce Company. This Manhattan-based company manufactured peanut bags in 1892. It expanded into the Hudson Valley and began manufacturing high-quality corrugated packaging for produce products in response to the needs of the industry.

From our earliest roots, we’ve been a family-owned and operated business. That means we only produce products we’d be happy to give our own kin.

Like our founder Ferdinand D. Croce and the 5 generations that have taken after him, we take pride in our ability to adapt to the demands of an ever-changing market. Our current company is represented by the mighty Viking. Today, Viking is made up of a family of businesses that work in tandem to meet every customer’s need. Freedom Corrugated, established in 2003, is our raw material supplier which ensures our raw materials hold up to the highest standards. Viking, our home base in the Hudson Valley, is the production hub that brings our designs to life. Swatek, a giant in the New York Metropolitan area, joined the Viking family in 2020 and added other packaging protection materials to our offerings as well as a key distribution center. Together, we’re working every day to make sure that we only produce the highest quality product for a reasonable price for every single customer. It’s the commitment F.D. Croce Company began, and it’s what we’ll continue to do.
