History
Viking Industries started in 1973, but our lineage goes back quite a bit farther. F.D. Croce Company began manufacturing peanut bags in Manhattan in 1892, and in the 20th century, the company expanded into produce cartons and moved into the Hudson Valley. It became increasingly difficult to get quality corrugated partitions needed for the produce boxes at a good price. Viking Industries was founded to satisfy that need. Viking has always been family owned and operated so we are personally committed to doing every customer's job right.
Responding to the changing needs of Viking’s customers, we added equipment to produce corrugated boxes and die cuts. But, while our product line has expanded over the years, the solution remains the same – better business results through packaging.
Today, as was the case at our beginnings, our obsession with meeting customer needs drives Viking to continue to invest in equipment and people that will expand capabilities and product offerings. In 2003 Viking cofounded Freedom Corrugated to ensure that our raw material source would meet our quality and service expectations. In 2008, Freedom expanded and installed a second corrugator. Owning the corrugators is a prime example of Viking's cost-reduction investments.
Viking now serves a wide range of industries. The common bond that our customers share is they value a company that identifies needs instead of selling products. We look forward to continuing to innovate and help businesses achieve more, through packaging.
